An excellent opportunity has become available for a dynamic and highly motivated Nursing Manager to lead the professional team in the Rehabilitation Unit at a private hospital in Newcastle.
ROLE OVERVIEW As Nurse Unit Manager (NUM) you will be responsible for providing leadership direction to the Rehabilitation Unit & Allied Health team to support the strategic direction, operational processes, budget, and business direction of the hospital.
CANDIDATE REQUIREMENTS As the successful applicant, you will possess the following attributes:

• Current AHPRA registration;
• At least 5 years of relevant experience;
• Post Graduate qualification in a relevant specialty field (or working towards);
• Experience in managing a department (including acting/deputising a manager role);
• Compliance with ACSQHC National standards;
• A strong commitment to developing in a management role;
• Computer literacy including MS Office and various databases;
• Ability to work cohesively within a team environment;
• Proven time management and prioritisation skills;
• Demonstrate a sound knowledge base in labour management;
• Demonstrated HR management experience.

ABOUT THE FACILITY The hospital, located in Newcastle, is an 189-bed, acute, private facility with 11 theatres, including a hybrid theatre and a 15-bed Intensive Care Unit. The Maternity Unit comprises a Birthing Suite, Maternity Ward, and Special Care Nursery. Birthing Suite has 6 rooms on the ground floor, with Croudace Operating Theatres adjacent. The Maternity Ward encompasses 38 beds combined with antenatal and postnatal rooms.
