• The Specialist Outpatient Department provides quality Specialist assessment, diagnosis, and consultation for patients in an Ambulatory or non-inpatient care setting.
• Temporary Full-time opportunity available for up to 12 months
About the role
The Nurse Unit Manager is responsible for the operational management of the day-to-day service activities within the Specialist Outpatients Department including the effective management of the human, financial and material resources of the Service.
The Nurse Manager role:
- has an advanced level of autonomous professional practice
- has an advanced level of decision making skill, knowledge and capability
- undertakes operational leadership
- works collectively to apply the principles of good clinical governance
- applies professional and clinical expertise in collaboration with nursing and other stakeholders.
- use high level interpersonal and communication skills that support effective communication negotiation and consultation with a wide range of stakeholders – both internal and external to WMH

About you
Our ideal candidate will be someone who can demonstrate the following:
- Demonstrated ability in managing a nursing team in a multidisciplinary environment utilising the principles of contemporary human, financial and material resources.
- Ability to use clinical information and other technology systems to enhance clinical practice and performance in the Specialist Outpatients service.
- Develop and maintain a strong working relationship with all stakeholders – internal and external including effective communication of issues through regular engagement sessions.
- Demonstrated ability to manage service improvement activities to ensure achievement of key outcomes and deliverables within nominated timeframes.
