What you'll be doing:
The Clinical Nursing Unit Manager (NUM1) ensures that the physical, human and financial resources at the local level are managed effectively to meet the needs of patients and service demand. The NUM1 acts as an advocate for patients/clients and staff and promotes consumer involvement in care delivery. The role and responsibilities of the NUM1 includes a duty of care to staff to ensure that there is a safe working environment and that staff are developed appropriately to meet the service demands and to realise their potential. Given the role and responsibilities of the position it is important that the NUM1 is physically present on the unit for the majority of the time supervising clinical care and attending to all matters relating to the efficient functions of the Ward. A NSW Health agency may require further information about the medical contraindication (including but not limited to an Immunisation Medical Exemption form – IM011 form).
Acceptable proof of vaccination is the Australian Immunisation Register (AIR) Immunisation History Statement or AIR COVID-19 Digital Certificate. Booster doses are highly recommended for all health care workers who have completed the primary course of COVID-19 vaccinations.
Employment of a temporary visa holder may only occur if no suitable permanent resident or citizen of Australia has been identified and must not exceed the duration or conditions associated with the current visa.
Selection criteria to be addressed: * Current registration with the Australian Health Practitioner Registration Agency. (Registered Nurse – Division 1).

• Demonstrated experience as a Clinical Nursing Unit Manager - Level 1 or acting Clinical Nursing Unit Manager - Level 1 or Team Leader experience
• Demonstrated relevant clinical nursing experience
• Demonstrated ability to motivate, manage and develop nursing staff
• Demonstrated effective interpersonal and communication skills including problem solving, balancing competing demands and conflict resolution
• Demonstrated ability to work both autonomously and as a member of a multidisciplinary team
• Postgraduate nursing qualifications in mental Health Nursing or management, or working towards same
