Join an experienced and collaborative team in this community facing role, where you will be responsible for supporting the delivery of key communication and engagement activities in the North West of the State. This role would ideally suit someone who has experience in a similar community engagement role and a good understanding of the renewable energy sector.
Marinus Link is an underground and undersea electricity and data cable that will further connect Tasmania and Victoria. The cable will run 255km undersea from North West Tasmania to Waratah Bay, Victoria, then a further 90km underground to the Latrobe Valley in Gippsland. A nationally significant infrastructure project, Marinus Link will support Australia’s renewable energy transition and provide economic and social benefits for communities in both states.

Your role
This role will be a full or part time engagement until the end of 2024, with the possibility of extension as the project progresses.
Your key responsibilities
- Responsibility for scoping, planning, delivering and reporting on community engagement activities related to Marinus Link in North West Tasmania.
- Work with key internal and external stakeholders to ensure that Marinus Link is successful in achieving its key project outcomes.
- Utilise and build upon existing networks in the region and manage information and feedback on the project.
- Support the broader Communications and Community Engagement Team in both Tasmania and Victoria as required.
You’ll need
- An ability to build rapport and establish strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
- Well-developed communication skills including the ability to prepare and deliver compelling papers and presentations that summarise complex issues for a wide variety of stakeholders.
- Experience planning and delivering stakeholder and community engagement, preferably within a major project, utilities or government setting.
- An understanding of North West Tasmania, with existing networks highly desirable.
- Have an undergraduate degree in Communications, Public Relations, Public policy, Science, Business or equivalent desire.
