Perth Heavy Haulage is a WA based family owned and operated transport company that provides heavy haulage transport Australia wide. Due to company growth, we are currently seeking a full-time Occupational Health and Safety Advisor.
About the Role: As an Occupational Health and Safety Advisor, you will play a crucial role in developing, implementing, and monitoring company policies and programs that promote a safe and healthy work environment. Your primary focus will be to ensure that the company complies with all current Health and Safety legislation and best practices, reducing or preventing hazards, accidents, and health issues
Key Responsibilities:
Risk Assessment & Management:
- Conduct regular site inspections and risk assessments to identify potential hazards.
- Develop risk management strategies to mitigate identified risks.
Policy Development & Implementation:
- Develop and implement Health and Safety policies and procedures in line with current legislation.
- Ensure compliance with all Health and Safety laws and regulations.
Training & Awareness:
- Conduct training sessions on Health and Safety practices and policies.
- Increase Health and Safety awareness among employees.
Incident Investigation & Reporting:
- Investigate accidents or incidents to determine the cause and find ways to prevent them in the future.
- Maintain records of incidents and accidents and provide statistical reports as required.
Consultation & Communication:
- Serve as the point of contact for employees for all Health and Safety-related concerns.
- Liaise with external Health and Safety authorities as required.
Continuous Improvement:
- Regularly review and update Health and Safety strategies and policies.
- Keep abreast of new legislation and best practices in the field.
Qualifications and Experience:
- Relevant certification in Occupational Health and Safety (e.g., NEBOSH, OSHA).
- Proven experience in an Occupational Health and Safety role.
- Knowledge of relevant Health and Safety laws and regulations

- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to conduct training and presentations.
- Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills.
- Capacity to work independently and collaboratively
