The role
A new role within the Disability Services Team has become available for an Occupational Therapist. The Occupational Therapist will undertake functional assessments to support clients in accessing the National Disability Insurance Scheme (NDIS). The role will promote and facilitate the occupational performance of clients in all aspects of their daily life. This is inclusive of, self-care, productivity, and leisure-based-tasks. In this role, the Occupational Therapist will work predominantly with NDIS participants but may also be requested to work with other client groups.
The successful candidate will:
- Have a minimum of 2 years’ experience in Disability Services or a keen interest in working within the NDIS sector.
- Possess the relevant Tertiary qualification (Bachelor or Masters) in Applied Science - Occupational Therapy and be registered with AHPRA or the Occupational Therapy Board Australia.
- Assess and recommend appropriate assistive technology in accordance with NDIS guidelines, based on participants’ goals and funding.
- Manage a caseload of participants and design therapy programs to work towards achieving participant outcomes.
- Assess client’s functional capacity including physical and psychological abilities through clinical assessment.
- Work collaboratively within a multi-disciplinary team and able to work independently.
- Have a NDIS Check or able to apply.
- Have a current National Police Clearance
- Have a current Driver’s License and own vehicle for work purposes.
