We are currently searching for a Full Time or Part Time Occupational Health Nurse to join our team on a casual basis for 4-6 months. The role can be based remotely, or in any of Orica’s regional offices in the East Coast of Australia.   

Reporting to the Regional SHES Lead – Occupational Hygiene & Health, you'll collaborate closely with various teams including manufacturing, supply chain, mining services, and human resources to provide technical guidance and implement best-in-class health solutions and support for our employees.

  • Review medical assessments conducted by health service providers.
  • Manage health-related incidents, injuries, and exposures, including classification, investigations, and corrective actions.
  • Provide advice on mechanisms to identify, manage, and respond to health-related situations and proposed changes in standards.
  • Coordinate regional fitness-for-work programs and associated procedures.
  • Represent mining services in health communities of practice within the region.
  • Support other Occupational Health Nurse resources within the region as needed.
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience as an Occupational Health Nurse, ideally with a strong background in Occupational Hygiene.
  • Recent experience as a Registered Nurse.
  • Tertiary qualification in Science, Health, or a related field.
  • Enthusiasm for proactive health initiatives in occupational settings.
  • Deep understanding of health and medical requirements, including legislation pertaining to mining and health surveillance.
  • Previous experience in audits, investigations, and risk assessments.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, including proficiency in report writing and presentations.
