Occupational Health Professionals (OHP) was established in 1985 and is regarded as an industry leader in the Work Health and Safety (WHS) services sector.
Our client, who is a New South Wales Government Department employs over 900 staff members who oversee a volunteer workforce of more than 76,000. The shared vision is to provide a world standard of excellence in the provision of a volunteer-based community fire and emergency service.
To support this vision, our client has identified the need to for an Occupational Health Nurse to join the organisation on a contract period for three months with a likely extension.
This is an integral role where you will be responsible for facilitating optimal health outcomes for volunteer workforce.
The duties will include but not limited to:
- Coordinate and manage the pre-employment medical screening, medical assessment, vaccination and health management programs in a cost effective and timely manner to deliver organisational outcomes.
- Develop collaborative working relationships with members, health professionals and organisational personnel.
- Provide guidance, advice and case management of non-work related illness/injury cases, including analysing health/medical information, and best practice industry standards to make critical decisions in relation to capacity for members to perform their role, and the development of health management plans.
To be considered for this role candidates will require to demonstrate the following:
- Current AHPRA registration with 5 years clinical exp.
- Evidence of vaccination: Covid-19 /2021
- Occupational health nursing qualifications, experience or tertiary qualification in Occupational Health & safety would be advantageous.
- Previous experience in establishing and implementing health management, health monitoring and promotion programs within an occupational setting.
- Knowledge and understanding of the NSW WHS Legislation in relation to Health Monitoring and Hazardous Substances would be advantageous
- Possess intermediate computer skills
- Demonstrated ability to successful work independently
- Excellent communication skills, combined with high level organisational skills/attention to detail
- NSW Drivers License and ability to travel
Previous experience within ED environment would be highly regarded.
