St Vincent’s Private Hospital Melbourne (SVPHM) is a facility of St Vincent’s Health Australia under the stewardship of Mary Aikenhead Ministries. We are a not for profit Catholic private hospital which operates across four sites at Fitzroy, East Melbourne, Kew and Werribee.
This position is based at our East Melbourne site.
A very exciting opportunity has become available for a friendly, dynamic and enthusiastic Occupational Therapist to join our small but vibrant Occupational Therapy team at St Vincent’s Private Hospital, East Melbourne.
We are currently recruiting for either a Grade 1 or a Grade 2 Occupational Therapist to join our cohesive and supportive allied health team.
Responsibilities will include (but will not be limited to)
- Opportunity to see a mixed Caseload of patients including orthopaedic, oncology, plastics, paediatrics and general medical patients across both Rehabilitation and Acute wards.
- Timely delivery of team goals and quality improvement projects, including annual delivery of a minimum of one quality improvement project
- Clinical liaison with the multidisciplinary team, nurse unit managers, and medical teams
- Supervision of Allied Health Assistant, as per department needs
- Assisting senior staff with student supervision, as per department needs
The successful candidate will:
- Be a qualified Occupational Therapist, B. App Sc (OT), B. Occupational Therapy, MOT prac or recognised equivalent
- Full Registration held with the Occupational Therapy Board of Australia
- Member of OT Australia (or eligible for membership)
- Have over 12 months post graduate experience.
- Be a team player and forward thinking.
- Have values consistent with those of St Vincent’s Private Hospital
- Flexible working ability to work across various settings and completing individual assessments and individual and group interventions
- Work will include weekday and weekend shifts
- Be committed to providing an innovative high quality service to clients.
- Have the ability to identify clinical risk and implement strategies to minimise risk.
