The role:

Applications are welcomed from dynamic Occupational Therapists - Grade 1 or 2 to join the team at Northern Health on a casual basis. With an increase in internal promotions, this is a good opportunity to join Northern Health so you dont miss out!

We have opportunities for casual work in specialty areas such as Hand Therapy and Paediatrics as well as inpatient settings.

The Northern Health Occupational Therapy Department spans across all sites of Northern Health and many services, and as a casual employee you will have opportunities to work in many of the different areas of the organisation, with support and guidance. You will be accountable for providing high quality, evidence based Occupational Therapy services through the application of competent clinical skills in assessment, intervention, and discharge planning across the continuum of care.

As a Weekday Casual Occupational Therapist (Grade 1 or 2), you will be working in a variety of settings across the continuum of care. You will utilise your strong assessment, intervention and discharge planning skills while working within a multidisciplinary team.
As a Weekend Casual Occupational Therapist (Grade 2), you will be responsible for responding to and seeking out referrals in the inpatient setting. The main focus is on assessment and discharge planning.

Working in one of our specialist Hand Therapy or Paediatric teams you will be responsibile for servicing various clinics and programs within those streams, utilising your strong expert clinical skills.

To be successful in this role you will have:

  • Experience and good working knowledge of the role of Occupational Therapy across a variety of clinical settings
  • For casual hand therapy and paediatrics roles, you will have clinical skills and working knowledge within those specialties suitable to your grade level
  • Proven ability to work autonomously and part of a team
  • Committed to life-long learning and development
