- Seeking an experienced Occupational Therapist for a community based role in the specialised field of Older Adult Mental Health
- Exciting opportunity to join our dynamic team in delivering high quality, consumer focused mental health service to the community
- Provide psychiatric assessment and treatment formulation within the Older Adult Mental Health Program, in consultation with the Consultant Psychiatrist, clinical and medical team
- Develop and implement comprehensive recovery and treatment plans in collaboration with consumers and their family and carers
- Deliver evidence based treatment and interventions that support Older Adults with complex mental health and ageing related needs, and their families and carers
- Excellent Communication with consumers, families, carers, colleagues and other service providers
- Work autonomously and collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team
- Coordinate and deliver intensive clinical intervention and treatment to consumers in the community i.e. mental status examination, risk and safety management, medication observation and support, crisis support and management of acute deterioration
- With the program manager provide support and leadership to the Older Adult team.
- You have experience as a mental health clinician in either a community or inpatient setting, delivering evidence based mental health treatment and interventions
- Experience working with Older Adults, knowledge of the issues faced by Older Adults with a mental illness and a keen interest in this area
- You have well developed communication skills

Selection Criteria Essential: At least 2 years of experience in the assessment, diagnosis, and treatment of severe mental illness and psychiatric disability
Essential: Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to communicate effectively with consumers, families/carers, colleagues and other service providers
Essential: Ability to work with consumers, family and carers from a range of cultural backgrounds, and to provide gender sensitive services
Essential: A current Victorian Driver's Licence, and ongoing ability to use this form of transport
