These goals are often in areas such as sleep and settling, child behaviour, and parent and child health and wellbeing.These goals are achieved through structured programs that vary from residential, day stay and in-home support. Programs include:

• psychosocial, physical and developmental assessments
• parenting education
• counselling
• skills development
• play-based activities
• modelling effective behaviours.

The Barwon Early Parenting Centre is located within the McKellar Centre precinct on Ballarat Road in North Geelong.To learn more about the Victorian Government’s expansion and upgrade program to the early parenting centre network, .About the roleThe Occupational Therapist will bring their expertise and passion to both the inpatient and outpatient setting at the Early Parenting Centre (EPC). The Occupational Therapist will not just be delivering care, but facilitating educational programs; a journey of transformation for both the consumer and their families. Together as part of a team of multidisciplinary clinicians, you’ll build bridges, break down boundaries, and champion families with children aged 0-4 years old.The role could also include:

• consultative work across all domains in the EPC
• education and program development
• education of other clinical staff

Essential: Current national registration as an Occupational Therapist with the Australian Health Professionals Regulation Agency and Current registration as a SWEP (State-Wide Equipment Program) prescriber (minimum Green prescriber level)
Essential: Extensive clinical leadership experience within the paediatric stream
Essential: Demonstrated successful clinical leadership skills within an interdisciplinary team and as a leader in an occupational therapy team.
Essential: Experience working with vulnerable families and children aged between 0-4 years of age.
