Running in line with the recent Royal Commission into Mental Health, new infrastructure is driving fresh developments and revolutionary program delivery thus generating opportunity for specialist growth in a state-of-the-art facility.The role:This role requires the Occupational Therapist to:
- Provide specialist occupational therapy assessments, interventions and groups to young people and adult consumers and their families to achieve positive outcomes
- Design, implement and evaluate the therapeutic group program which is a core intervention at NPU
- Coordinate and capacity build multidisciplinary staff to support the utilisation of sensory assessments, interventions and two sensory rooms
- Develop and maintain activity hubs within NPU, to support a wide range of safe and meaningful activities being available for consumers to access
- Lead, supervise and support a team of Occupational Therapists
- Work closely with the NPU team, sharing your clinical expertise and support quality initiatives and research
- Expertise in developing and delivering interventions with consumers who have experienced serious mental illness and have complex mental health needs
- Interest and expertise in sensory modulation and group work
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
- Strong clinical leadership skills and ability to contribute effectively to a multidisciplinary team
