What you'll be doing The primary purpose of this role is to provide Person–Centred, Recovery Oriented and Trauma Informed mental health service incorporating whole person approach and life course approach to people with chronic persistent mental illness and complex psycho social needs. This position is to work collaboratively with staff, consumers, and other agencies (both within WSLHD and non-Government organisations) to promote effective participation in mental health treatment and recovery. This may include working on quality improvement and service delivery projects as part of the role. The Occupational therapy position is based at Blacktown Community Assertive Team will provide a high-quality clinical service to consumers and their families and carers across the acute and recovery services both at Cumberland hospital and at Blacktown Community Assertive Team. The position ensures provision of evidence-based interventions in order to meet the health and wellbeing needs of clients/ consumers with mental health issues.

Essential Requirements:
- Qualification: Degree in Occupational Therapy
- Registration: Current full registration with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA).
Selection Criteria:
- Demonstrated skills and relevant clinical experience in providing comprehensive Occupational Therapy assessment and support to consumers with chronic mental health issues and complex psychosocial needs.
- Demonstrated skills in the provision of therapeutic interventions based on evidence based practice for clients with mental health and psychosocial needs.
- Understanding of mental health act 2007 and other relevant legislations.
- Demonstrated proficient written, verbal and interpersonal communication skills.
- Proven ability to work both autonomously and as a member of a multidisciplinary team and prioritise a busy caseload.
- Demonstrated commitment to continuing professional education and quality improvement.
- Current NSW Drivers Licence (P2 acceptable) and willing to use it for work purpose.
