About The Opportunity
The Occupational Therapy Student Unit Supervisor role is responsible for coordinating OT and AHA student placements across both Camden & Campbelltown Hospitals. This role encompasses administrative responsibilities as well as carrying a clinical caseload.As a senior clinician in the department, you will be responsible for:
  • Management of a clinical caseload including providing support to staff with complex patient needs
  • Providing clinical supervision to staff
  • Quality improvement
  • Service development
  • Management & coordination of student placements
  • Direct supervision of students
  • Collaborating with other seniors in the department
  • Reporting to Head of Department
What You'll Be Doing
The student educator is responsible for the coordination of all undergraduate Occupational Therapists and allied health assistant placements and liaising with relevant universities and registered training organisations (RTOs). The position involves direct supervision of occupational therapy students as well as providing support, resources and education to staff in the department who are supervising students.
The Student Educator also carries a clinical caseload and is responsible for administrative responsibilities including participation in clinical supervision, quality improvement activities and service development.Where You'll Be Working

To be considered for this position, please ensure you address the selection criteria as thoroughly as possible. * Recognised Degree in Occupational Therapy or other qualification deemed appropriate by the employer, with registration with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA)
  • Demonstrated recent and extensive experience in clinical student supervision and/or staff supervision
  • Demonstration of an understanding of adult learning styles and teaching methods
  • Demonstrated excellent organisational, negotiation and written and verbal communication skills
  • Demonstrated experience in working collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team
  • Demonstrated experience with leading quality improvement and service evaluation activities
  • Demonstrated high level clinical expertise and knowledge of a wide range of clinical conditions in acute , sub-acute, paediatrics, cancer services
  • Must possess a valid Australian Drivers Licence (excluding learner driver's licences). If not already in possession, a NSW Drivers Licence must be obtained within 3 months of appointment.
