Job Purpose:
The Occupational Therapist at Advantage Therapy will be responsible for providing occupational therapy services to patients with physical, emotional, cognitive, and developmental disabilities. The Occupational Therapist will work collaboratively with other healthcare professionals, including physicians, speech therapists, and behaviour therapists, to develop and implement treatment plans that meet the individual needs of each patient. The Occupational Therapist will maintain accurate patient records and documentation and will provide education and support to patients and their families.

Duties and Responsibilities:
• Conduct comprehensive evaluations of patients with physical, emotional, cognitive, and developmental disabilities
• Develop individualized treatment plans based on evaluation results and patient goals
• Provide therapy services to patients with physical, emotional, cognitive, and developmental disabilities, including therapeutic activities, exercises, and adaptive equipment training
• Monitor patient progress and adjust treatment plans as necessary
• Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to provide coordinated and comprehensive care
• Maintain accurate and timely patient records and documentation in accordance with Australian privacy laws and regulations
• Provide education and support to patients and their families regarding physical, emotional, cognitive, and developmental disabilities
• Participate in continuing education and professional development activities to maintain licensure and stay current with advances in the field
• Adhere to ethical and professional standards of practice in accordance with Australian regulations
• Provide telehealth services to patients as needed
Qualifications:
• Qualification in Occupational Therapy from an accredited program
• APHRA Registration
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
• Ability to work effectively in a team-oriented environment
• Strong problem-solving and critical thinking skills
• Attention to detail and strong organizational skills
• Ability to work with patients of all ages and backgrounds
Physical Demands:
The Occupational Therapist may be required to sit or stand for extended periods of time, bend, reach, and lift up to 15 KG. The Occupational Therapist may also be required to work with patients in school or home settings.
Working Conditions:
The Occupational Therapist will work primarily in the Advantage Therapy clinic in Norwest, NSW, but may also provide services in other settings (such as schools or homes) as needed.
