Our current OT team includes more than 30 clinicians with varied experience and expertise across the national team. This places us in a position to provide high levels of support and supervision.  

 As an evolving organisation we strive to deliver neurodiversity affirming therapeutic services in alignment with evidence-based practises. We believe in a strength-based and individualised approach to supporting our clients and families in an authentic manner. Within our growing paediatric team, we are striving to align with best practise interventions including transdisciplinary (keyworker) early intervention approaches. About role 

We are looking for motivated, client-centric, outcome-focussed paediatric Occupational Therapists to join our expanding team with opportunities in Victoria, NSW, South Australia, Tasmania and QLD.   

As a part of the role, you will: 

  • Have experience, interestor a passion for working with children aged 0 -18 years old and their families 
  • Experience or interest in working with neurodivergent children, including autistic and ADHD children and children with developmental delays is preferred, advocating for their needs, and supporting them to develop their Regulation, Motor Skills, Social Relationships and Self-Care Skills. We highly value the ability to develop authentic relationships with children and families as this forms the foundation of our therapeutic support 
  • An understanding of neurodiversity affirming practises and be up to date of evidence-based practice 
  • Deliver play-based early intervention services in the client's natural environment 
  • Capacity build parents, educators, and other stakeholders in how to support the client and develop their communication, life skills, play and engagement 
  • Have a high level of written and verbal communication skills, particularly in advocacy, mediation, negotiation and conflict resolution 
  • Work effectively as part of a transdisciplinary team 
  • Opportunities to provide peer mentoring and senior roles, if of interest and individual suitability   

As a mobile therapist you will work from the comfort of your own home to plan and prepare therapy sessions before travelling into the community to provide your services at homes or schools. You will be required to manage your caseload by completing clinical notes and reports while communicating with your current clients and stakeholders via attending meetings, emails or via phone.   

An example of what a day in the life of our paediatric therapist: 

  • An initial assessment with a 4-year-old at her home with her parents, parent interview to gather background and functional information, play based interaction with client to observe their strengths and challenges 
  • A care team meeting with a client's parents internal/external therapists and additional stakeholders to develop a cohesive therapy plan to support the clients transition to school 
  • Coffee at a local café  
  • Driving whilst listening to a podcast or music of your choice!  
  • Supervision with clinical leader or administrative time to develop client therapy plans 
  • A school-based session with a 7-year-old, supporting their interoceptive and emotional awareness skill development. Followed by a quick chat with the teacher and email to the parents with strategies/resources they can use to practise the skills before next session at home.  
  • Administrative time to complete session documentation and correspondence   

Role requirements 

  • Bachelor or Master of Occupational Therapy 
  • Preferable NDIS experience and understanding  
  • A passion or interest inworking with children and their families 
  • Proven ability to establish meaningful relationships with a variety of stakeholders  
  • Current driver's licence and own registered vehicle 
  • AHPRA Registration 
  • Other qualification specific to disability will be highly regarded 
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
