Where you will be working:You will be working initially with the Transitional Aged care Program (TACP) team, where you support people over 65 transition back into their homes after a hospital admission. Your role helps people regain independence and confidence in their homes and community again. This role may be part of the future rotational Level 1/2 program where you may change clinical areas and learn other part of the Occupational therapy caseloads across acute, rehab and community settings.

What you'll be doingThis position is responsible for the provision of high quality client centred, evidence based Occupational Therapy services to clients of the Geriatric Medicine service at Westmead Hospital as directed.The Geriatric Medicine service covers inpatient and outpatient areas including acute geriatrics, rehabilitation, stroke unit, HOPE ED, RACE/RACE-Extend and TACP.

Essential Requirements
- Qualification: Degree or Diploma recognised by AAOT-NSW
- Registration: AHPRA registration as an Occupational Therapist
Selection Criteria
- Recognised tertiary qualification in Occupational Therapy and current AHPRA registration.
- Demonstrated clinical experience in inpatient and/or community aged care including experience in discharge planning, home assessment, home modifications and equipment prescription.
- Demonstrated ability to prioritise and manage own caseload on daily basis.
- Ability to work both independently and as a member of a multidisciplinary team.
- Demonstrate effective written and verbal communication skills.
- Demonstrated effective time management and organisational skills.
- Commitment to ongoing education, professional development and quality improvement.
- Current drivers licence valid within Australia
