About the Position
We are looking to welcome an Allied Health Practitioner (Psychologist, Occupational Therapist or Speech Pathologist) to work within the wider Townsville area to provide an outstanding therapeutic service to students, school personnel and care team.
- Government Funded until 31 January 2025 with possible extension.
- Part time (0.6FTE 45.6 h f/n) opportunity.
- Level 6 under the SCHCADS award. Salary range is $102,555 - $107,080 plus superannuation.
Key responsibilities of the role include:
- Identify and work toward education-based student goals, to enhance access, participation, and success within the educational environment
- Provide service delivery within schools in Townsville, with outreach to Charter Towers, Ingham, and the Burdekin upon request.
- Attend stakeholder meetings for the benefit of students and develop case plans in collaboration with school personnel.

About You
- Tertiary qualifications in Psychology, Occupational Therapy, or Speech Pathology.
- Relevant professional registration (essential) and membership of a relevant professional association (desirable).
- At least two years’ experience working with children, young people and their families who have been impacted by trauma, or at least five years’ experience working in similar roles.
- Experience providing individual and group therapy to children, young people and their families.
- A high level of cultural awareness and experience working with families from different backgrounds.
Other Requirements
- Eligibility for a Working with Children Check or professional exemption.
- Current driver’s licence.
- Legally able work in Australia (proof of eligibility will be requested).
- Fully vaccinated against COVID-19 or have an approved medical exemption.
