About the Role
You will be provided with a thorough induction program, mentoring and clinical supervision, access to continuing professional development opportunities, specific training to learn assessment, intervention, and application of strategies with a core focus on increasing independence in life skills and prescription of low vision aids/assistive technology.
The role will incorporate a mixed caseload of clients that receive funding through the National Disability Insurance Scheme (NDIS) and Home Care Packages, with additional work provided under the Commonwealth Home Support Program.
Your skills and Experience
Provide clinical community based functional assessments and support under the NDIS and Aged Care funding arrangements, with potential for treatment / therapy service provision.
- Work in close partnership with a range of specialised staff including Low Vision Optometrists, Orientation and Mobility Instructors, Adaptive Technology Specialists and Guide Dog Instructors.
- Provide assessment and advice on home modifications and assistive technology.
- Reform See Differently service delivery to clients with a re-ablement focus.
- Collaborate with innovative See Differently technology partners.
- Demonstrated people skills, including communication and conflict resolution required to deliver and foster relationships within a team.
- Well-developed customer service skills and a commitment to providing quality service and implementing continuous improvement.
- Good organisational, planning, and prioritising skills, including the ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
