We are seeking a dedicated and experienced OHS Specialist to join a Council based in Melbourne's inner north as the OHS Advisor to work as part of a dynamic Safety and Wellbeing team.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist the organisation in meeting OHS obligations and implementing safe work practices, policies, and procedures.
- Support the strategic direction of OHS practices and project implementation.
- Enhance and maintain the OHS system to promote consultative processes and improve safety performance.
- Ensure OHS compliance under relevant legislation.
- Lead and promote a healthy and safety culture to reduce and prevent workplace injuries.
- A tertiary qualification in OHS or a related field.
- Extensive experience in an OHS role within a diverse setting.
- Ability to interpret and apply OHS legislation and best practices.
- Experience in conducting worksite inspections, risk assessments, and compliance audits.
- Strong relationship-building and influence skills.
- Excellent report writing, problem-solving, and data research skills.
- Collaborative team player with a customer-focused approach.
