Your new role:
Are you looking to continue to develop your career in security within the defence industry. We will take you on the next step in your journey, expanding your knowledge and experience. This role would also be suited to a former Defence Security Officer / Employee, or government employee with a current NV1 clearance.
The role will be based at our new site in Avalon - The Hanwha Armoured Centre of Excellence (H-ACE). Reporting into the H-ACE Security Manager you will be responsible for the active implementation, ongoing management and reporting of all H-ACE security activities.
Your primary areas of responsibilities:
- Assist the H-ACE Security Manager with the development and implementation of site security procedures, plans and site security set up.
- Overseeing the external security guards
- Maintain site access passes and undertake compliance and security activities.
- Actively assist in the management of security incidences and security risks on the site.
- Proactively assisting the H-ACE Security Manager in ensuring Hanwha’s ongoing compliance with the Defence Industry Security Program (DISP).
- Applying Government security policy to advise on security-related issues.
- Respond to on-site security and emergencies.
- Maintain security-related registers.
- External Government liaison, especially with the Department of Defence. (CASG, DoSA and AGSVA)
- Undertaking compliance activities.
- Processing security helpdesk tickets.
- Event security management and planning.
- Providing site security briefings and trainings.
About you
As an ideal candidate you will have:
- Working knowledge of Australian Government policies, in particular the PSPF, DSPF and ISM.
- Previous experience in Defence, Defence Industry and/or Security will be highly regarded.
- Understanding of security risk management guidelines, standards and tools.
- A flexible, positive, and friendly nature
- Willingness and ability to work in a culturally diverse environment.
- Highly proactive with great problem-solving skills
- Ability to maintain a high level of confidentiality.
- Proficient in the Microsoft Office suite of applications
Eligibility
- To be successful in this role, you will need to be eligible to maintain an Australian NV1 Government Security clearance (must be Australian Citizen). Eligibility criteria can be found at http://www.defence.gov.au/agsva
