The Role

This position requires strong leadership skills to ensure effective planning, communication, safety protocols, detailing, and behaviour management, with a focus on meeting operational and production targets.

Reporting directly to the General Manager, you will play a pivotal role in enhancing the facility's safety standards, ensuring compliance, and building the team's capability. Your contribution will be instrumental in exceeding monthly safety objectives and delivering exceptional services under your guidance.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Prepare and implement procedures, systems, and Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).
  • Foster alignment across the business, promoting consistent adherence to standardized safety solutions.
  • Conduct assurance functions and compile brief reports for managerial review.
  • Oversee injury management functions and navigate workers' compensation claims.
  • Collaborate with business leaders to implement corrective actions and safety improvement initiatives.
  • Conduct safety audits, ensuring the closure of identified actions.
  • Develop plant risk assessments and oversee associated training programs.
  • Assume a leadership role in championing safety initiatives at the forefront.
  • Actively participate in product quality activities.
  • Maintain both digital and paper record systems in accordance with organisational requirements.
About you
  • A minimum of 3 years of experience in a health and safety role, preferably within the manufacturing or engineering sector in Australia.
  • Demonstrated experience in developing and delivering training sessions to frontline workgroups.
  • Proficient in preparing procedural and work instruction materials.
  • Exhibits strong personal planning and organizational skills.
  • Demonstrates effective and confident communication abilities.
  • Strong leadership and motivational skills to guide and inspire the team to achieve goals.
  • A collaborative approach, fostering teamwork and positive relationships among team members.
  • A dedication to maintaining high-quality standards and a keen eye for detail.
