Seeking an HSE/OHS Officer who will play a pivotal role in upholding our commitment to maintaining exemplary health, safety, and environmental standards across all our clients' projects based in Brisbane
Responsibilities:
- Generating and maintaining all health and safety records relevant to the site.
- Conducting daily walk-through inspections to ensure adherence to health and safety standards, promptly addressing any issues identified.
- Conducting toolbox talks to educate employees and contractors on health and safety best practices.
- Assisting in achieving health and safety objectives through proactive measures.
- Organising and conducting comprehensive project site inductions for all personnel.
- Reviewing subcontractors' Safety Systems, including SWMS, and issuing corrective actions as needed to ensure compliance with WHS regulations.
- Ensuring accurate and timely entry of incident reports into designated systems.
- Developing risk reduction strategies and providing expert advice on safety matters.
- Participating in safety inspections, interactions, audits, and recommending improvements as necessary.
Requirements:
- Proven experience as a Safety Advisor, Officer, or similar role within the construction or related industry.
- In-depth knowledge of WHS regulations and best practices.
- Ability to conduct thorough inspections and implement effective safety protocols.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage and influence stakeholders at all levels.
- Excellent organisational skills and attention to detail.
- Relevant certification in Occupational Health and Safety or a similar field is preferred.
