About this roleAs the Operational Assurance Officer, you will be required to perform, among others, complex field-based assurance assessments and to provide required reports to achieve benchmarked levels of operational due diligence in quality and compliance with Safety, Environment, Quality and Training requirements, Design Standards and Work Practices, including but not limited to Reduce the exposure of risks to the relevant workforce, Public and Property through ensuring compliance with technical scope of works, electrical standards, quality inspections and approved work practices of our 24/7 operations. Identify electrical compliance / engineering risks, hazards, quality of work and other opportunities for improvement by initiating sustainable corrective action as required. Providing technical support on quality, guidelines, and standards, and ensure these are adopted through assessment, coaching, and mentoring of peers and line managers. Assisting in the development of field-based strategies to improve quality, performance, and work practice compliance in all aspects of operations across the relevant workforce. Sharing technical knowledge and information with relevant stakeholders Receive and analyse operational feedback from the relevant operational workforce to drive continuous improvement in the documentation of operational work practices and design standards. About youWe are seeking someone with experience and attributes that include: At least 6 to 8 years solid field-based experience in Electrical Distribution and Transmission network and/or heavy industry planning, construction, operation, commissioning, and overhead/underground maintenance Completed or willing to undertake suitable training associated with operational knowledge Extensive detailed knowledge and understanding of the Design and Construction standards is required to ensure the correct quality of work is maintained by the internal and external workforce. Work Health & Safety knowledge relevant to the electricity supply and construction sector Proficiency in use of mainframe computing systems and Microsoft Office (as a minimum) Willingness to travel away from primary work location, sometimes for extended periods. Given the geographical nature of the South West Interconnecting Network (SWIN), at times this role will require the completion of night and weekend work, along with a requirement to travel away from its normal place of work and the need for extended overnight stays Ability to plan and work to priorities and work independently to meet identified deliverables and outcomes within established timelines. Excellent communications skills, both written and verbal, that enables effective interaction with key stakeholders, peers, and the general community. Valid WA Driver's License Class ‘C' or ‘C-A' Must possess a current Electrical Workers Licence or Cert III trade qualification in Electrical, Lines or Cable Jointing or Equivalent trade qualification, engineering, contract management or WHS Qualification.
