The Role

Reporting to the Manager Operations, the Operational Compliance Lead is responsible for IT change and release management ensuring compliance with ITIL principles. In this role, you will ensure that our hardware environment is managed to meet the changing needs of the business with the support of third party managed service providers, professional service providers and other teams within the business.

This will be achieved through:

  • Ensuring that IT applications, systems and infrastructure changes are managed in line with ITIL and Melbourne Water policies and processes. Where gaps exist in existing processes and policies, you will ensure that the requires documentation is addressed.
  • Managing the IT Change Management process.
  • Providing a source of Quality Assurance across the change process ensuring that appropriate testing has been conducted and processes followed.
  • Monitoring and reporting on the performance of our IT Service Delivery partners, reviewing management reports provided by our partners against contractual deliverables and highlighting any areas of concern to MW management team.
  • Working with internal and external staff and stakeholders to ensure uplift of change management.
  • Governing the scheduling and controlling the movement of releases into production and non-production environments to remove environment and resource contention.
  • Ensuring that the details regarding services and solutions are properly controlled, and that accurate and reliable information about those assets are stored in a CMDB and available when and where it is needed.

Your Skills and Experience

  • Highly developed ITIL Operational Compliance management skills
  • Knowledge of ITIL Change management
  • Knowledge of service activation/de-activation standards, policies and procedures
  • Expertise in capacity planning and forecasting
  • Expertise in performing the audits and reporting the gaps identified with proposed solutions
  • ITIL Certification (Foundation and/or Practitioner)

Your demonstrated stakeholder engagement skills particularly your ability to manage relationships with internal teams and vendors will be keys to this role.
