About the role
Seeking x 3 ORAT (Operational Readiness And Transfer) Team Members to join us at Auckland Airport. In this role you will be helping to operationalise the large and complex infrastructure programme currently underway. This is a once in a lifetime opportunity to leave your footprint on AIAL by supporting the successful opening and expansion of airport infrastructure and facilities, airside, terminal and landside.
This is a newly created team within the operations team to provide a smooth and seamless transitions during the airport infrastructure development projects and airport expansions. The role will be responsible for executing comprehensive ORAT programmes to facilitate a successful Operational Readiness phase and Transfer of airport facilities.
In this team, you will have the opportunity to successfully integrate our $5B+ infrastructure projects. You may bring a background in ORAT and may have held airside operations or project roles. You may have also worked across operationalising other large infrastructure developments in other industries. We are looking for a mix of skills within the ORAT team and not withstanding your experience, a strong focus on health and safety is required for this position.
This role is working Monday to Friday, full-time hours. Relocation to Auckland is required as this role requires on-site work.
Your key responsibilities are:
- Collaborate with airport stakeholders, project managers, and operational departments to ensure alignment with project objectives.
- Organize and conduct operational testing, simulations, and drills to assess the readiness of airport systems, facilities, and personnel.
- Identify areas of improvement and implement corrective measures based on test outcomes.
- Foster strong relationships with various stakeholders, both internal and external, including airlines, ground handlers, government agencies, aviation security and other service providers.
- Coordinate with stakeholders to understand their needs and to ensure smooth service transition and minimal disruption during the transfer phase.
- Conduct post-ORAT evaluations and gather lessons learned to enhance future airport transfer projects.
- Participate in a culture of continuous improvement within the ORAT team and collaborate with other departments to implement best practices.

To ensure your success in this role, you will need:
- Bachelor’s degree in Airport Management, Business Administration, or a related field
- Extensive experience in airport operations / ORAT
- Proven track record of successfully coordinating ORAT during airport or other infrastructure projects or expansions.
- An in-depth knowledge of airport processes, regulations, and best practices related to Operational Readiness and Transfer will be highly valued.
- Strong project management skills, with the ability to handle multiple complex tasks and deadlines effectively.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate with diverse stakeholders and teams.
- Problem-solving mindset with the ability to think critically and make data-driven decisions.
- Flexibility to adapt to changing project requirements and operational environments.
- Certification or training in airport operations or ORAT methodologies is a plus.
