As an Operational Risk Analyst, you will play a crucial role in advancing our risk management framework and contributing to the achievement of targeted levels of Risk Maturity. With a focus on building risk capabilities that promote simplification, you will work towards ensuring a safe and well-functioning workforce. Moreover, your efforts will be instrumental in maintaining high engagement across the function and continuously improving the efficiency and productivity of our risk management processes.
What You'll Do
- Proactively work to advocate the desired risk culture and improving risk capability and maturity
- Provide Risk subject matter expertise to support business stakeholders in fulfilling the obligations as set out in the Enterprise Risk Management Framework
- Support the analysis of risk performance and share insights to support the business in improving the identification and management of Operational Risks
- Oversight activities and initiatives to ensure compliance with Suncorp Policies and Procedures, and broadly, with any other relevant laws and regulatory requirements
- Support the oversight and analysis of incidents and business processes and where required make recommendations to strengthen the control environment
- Support Operational Risk team with the execution of activities such as preparation of the risk reports (e.g. Bank Non Financial Risk Committee, Quarterly Risk Report)
What You'll Bring
- A tertiary qualification in a business or related field is desirable
- 3+ year experience banking risk management, or in relevant financial services role
- 2+ year experience in a leading consulting company is desirable
- Experience in managing stakeholder relationships at varying levels
- Sound knowledge of Risk Management methodologies and practices, and their application
- Working knowledge of the industry and market environment
- Experience in assessing risk in business initiatives and activities (such as process changes and project delivery)
- Work experience in Risk Profiling and Scenario Analysis
- Technical experience with Risk Systems (e.g. Open Page) and Microsoft suit tools
