The Institutional Capital Reform Program team sits within Risk Projects and across the Institutional Division.
Risk is a critical function, with highly valued and innovative teams that enable ANZ to deliver its purpose.
The Operational Risk & Controls Manager is critical to making this happen and will be responsible for identifying and documenting Credit processes and controls to evidence how the Institutional Division meets our Credit Standards. Apart from this, the role is also expected to identify and map Controls to key data elements and regulatory obligations per APS 112 and APS 113. This also involves engaging with business workstreams, Data Quality, Operational Risk, Compliance and key stakeholders to support well managed processes for meeting our Credit Risk obligations.
This role would suit a Credit process officer or Assistant Manager with strong documentation skills who would like to join a team of Risk professionals.
What a typical day might look like…
- Review business processes and data elements that underpin our regulatory obligations for APS 112 and APS 113.
- Collate evidence across the e2e Credit Risk value chain, and critically analyse these, and trace the linkages to our regulatory obligations (including understanding which processes critical data elements rely upon). Ensure the end to end processes effectively manages and process, data and credit risk (including identifying areas of concern/uplift)
- Manage APS 112 and 113 traceability register for the annual Compliance Plan and Regulatory Attestation
- Work collaboratively with Capital Reform workstream teams, 1st line assurance teams, BU process & control owners, Risk and Audit teams.
- Support New Ways Of Leading through a growth mindset that effectively embodies and promotes the culture and values of Institutional Banking and encourages the team to do so
What will you bring?
- Experience in collating data and evidence to demonstrate regulatory compliance through an annual attestation process. Understanding of op risk and data management framework and processes, regulatory obligations and control frameworks
- Experience and understanding of Institutional Lending processes across Coverage, Operations, Credit Risk and Lending Services. (Familiarity with core lending systems is a plus)
- Experience in drawing on multiple data sources and networks to understand the problem, devise a solution and deliver on the way forward, considering effective risk management processes and strategies
- Ability to maintain commitment to change; engages with others to gain buy-in and act as an advocate for continuous improvement.
- Ability to proactively identify, support and drive opportunities for change
