We are experiencing significant growth and as a result we are looking for highly motivated Operational Technology Specialist Technician who will work closely with the corporate, operations and service provider teams to ensure the availability and maintenance of critical site technology meets the operational requirements of the business.
Based at our South Walker Creek mine operation, located within 50 kilometres West of Nebo in Queensland’s Bowen Basin, we have a great opportunity to join our team of Operational Technology Specialist Technicians on a 7/7 permanent roster. You will have significant prior experience in Information, Operations or Engineering Technology in a mining environment, with relevant trade or tertiary qualifications and additional industry certifications and competencies.
Your duties will include:
- Ensure day to day availability of the sites Fleet Management, Wireless Telemetry Systems, Network and Server Infrastructure and Digital Radio System.
- Assist in the installation and maintenance of Wireless Telemetry Systems (WTS), Production and non-Production CCTV Systems, Fleet Management System, Physical Access Management System, Digital Radio System and/or other IT/OT systems as necessary.
- Assist the Technology Supervisor and Superintendent in identifying and implementing initiatives that contribute to current and potential value to the business from a Site Operations perspective, ensuring compliance to the Change Management Procedure.
- Execute work orders as per schedule and relevant work instructions associated with the work orders.
- Provide input into root cause analysis and subsequent resolution of issues affecting equipment reliability.
- Review and request updates to Work Management and other Master Data as required
- Step up as team supervisor as required.
What you will need:
- Tertiary qualifications or Trade certificate in Telecommunications, Radio Communications, Electronics & Communications, Auto Electrical or other related fields.
- Experience with Point-to-Point communication links, Analogue and Digital 2-way radio systems
- Experience with Fleet Management Systems, Communications and Electronic systems
- A proven track record of Safety within an operational environment.
- An ability to prioritise effectively and execute tasks in a high-pressure environment
- Sound communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to build relationships with customers/partners
- Australian C class driver's license
- Coal mine exposure would be advantageous
- Experience in 1SAP would be advantageous
- ACMA Open/unrestricted Cabling Licence preferable
- EWP High Risk Work Operation Ticket preferable
