About the role
The Operations Assistant aims to provide support services to the activities in the Perioperative Department by the performance of any or all of the tasks assigned to this position and contributing to the achievement of safe patient outcomes. This role is engaged in the provision of porterage, theatre linen supplies, cleaning services, as well as intraoperative theatre duties including transfers of patients onto the operating table and positioning of patients.
We are looking for someone who…
Has the ability to commit to a roster providing afternoon and evening cover 7 days a week, including night shift.
Has the ability to work effectively as a member of a multidisciplinary team.
Can demonstrate previous experience in intraoperative theatre duties, including transfer of patients onto the operating table and positioning of patients or willingness to learn.
Applicants must hold a current Working with Children's Check.

About working for SLHD
This is a Category A position. To be employed by NSW Health you are required to provide evidence of vaccination to comply with the NSW Health Occupational Assessment, Screening & Vaccination against Specified Infectious Diseases Policy (PD2023_022).
All NSW Health workers are required to have completed a primary course (2 doses) of a Therapeutic Goods Administration (TGA) approved or recognised COVID-19 vaccine (except for the Janssen COVID-19 vaccine which is approved by the TGA as a single dose primary course). Acceptable proof of vaccination is the Australian Immunisation Register (AIR) Immunisation History Statement or AIR COVID-19 Digital Certificate. Booster doses are highly recommended for all health care workers who have completed the primary course of COVID-19 vaccinations.
