Our Warehouse and Logistics department are all about keeping our guests fed, our bars popping, engines running, painters painting, our rooms comfortable and our staff dressed and looked after. These are organisational gurus love working in a dynamic environment where they are an integral, behind the scenes, part of our guest’s and staff’s experience. Without our warehouse team the island cogs would come to a standstill and we’d all starve!
We now have a fulltime permanent opportunity for an experienced Operations Coordinator to join our team based at our Shute Harbour Facility.

Your Role
You will be responsible for assisting in the organisation of all facets of barge operations and general freight segments.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Processing barge bookings and prepare manifests maximising space allocations for any barge operating to and from Hamilton Island
- Manage phone and website enquiries – operations, general freight and barge bookings
- Prepare accurate documents for end of month reconciliation for barge and general freight operations
- Ensure safe handling, including Dangerous Goods compliance of freight is upheld
- Maintain a high level of professional customer service to both internal and external clients
- Assist with in-house procedure and system development
- Effective communication across the division encompassing all personnel within the Logistics and barge operations at Hamilton Island and Shute Harbour warehouses
About You
You are a cup half-full kind of person, you’re organised, friendly and polite and enjoy working in a close-knit team and understand that the role you are performing is critical to our guest’s enjoyment of the island.
You will also have:
- School certificate or equivalent (Desireable)
- Qld open / unrestricted driver’s licence (Desireable)
- Experience in administrative / coordination in the logistics / warehouse / transport environments (Desirable)
