Our client is a leading specialist geotechnical engineering consultancy providing expert services throughout Australia. With over 75 years of combined experience in civil and geotechnical engineering, they serve a diverse clientele in both public and private sectors. As the Operations Director, you will work hand in hand with the Technical Director and the Managing Director overseeing a team of 25+ talented engineers and technical staff.

Your role will focus on co-managing major projects design deliverables, construction team communications and constructability reviews for critical design packages.

You will also be responsible for achieving pre-qualification status as an approved geotechnical consultancy for major projects in states and territories outside of QLD.

Additionally, your role will include the following tasks:

• Assisting the Managing Director to secure more business and to further diversify the company to ensure overall group success
• Mentor and train current/new staff to ensure continuous professional development
• Produce at least one (1) technical paper for presentation at technical conferences/seminars

To be successful in the role, you will possess the following:

• Tertiary qualification in Civil Engineering
• 7-10 years of local industry experience in Geotechnical Engineering - Infrastructure-related experience is preferred - consulting or contracting backgrounds are both suitable
• Demonstrable balance of technical and commercial skills
• Interest and ability to form and maintain fruitful commercial relationships
• Thorough understanding of applicable legal and regulatory frameworks
