About Hello Sunday Morning

Hello Sunday Morning’s ambitious mission is to change the world’s relationship with alcohol. One Sunday at a time.

We began in 2009 when Founder, Chris Raine, documented his year long experiment to take a break from drinking in a blog. The organisation has since grown into Australia’s largest alcohol-focused digital health service.

Our flagship technology platform, the Daybreak app, provides free anonymous 24/7 peer support for people to change their relationship with alcohol, whether that is taking a break, cutting back or quitting. Daybreak has had close to 130,000 registrations and is supplemented by a range of other services and tools to support self-directed change.

About the role

The newly created role of Operations Manager reports to the CEO and forms part of the Senior Leadership Team. You will be part of a dynamic team, working across the organisation to ensure the effective and efficient delivery of organisational outcomes and setting the organisation up for strategic growth.

The Operations Manager is responsible for providing support to ensure smooth operation of the organisation.The role takes on the position of company secretary, ensuring corporate governance and supporting the operations of the Board of Directors.

The role will have a strong continuous improvement focus to support the delivery of high quality services to key stakeholders.

We are open to the successful candidate working 4 or 5 days a week.

Responsibilities

You will be responsible for the efficient delivery of operational outcomes including, but not limited to:

Finance and facilities management

• Coordination between Hello Sunday Morning and our contract CFO, finance and payroll team, including ensuring the annual financial audit is successfully completed and reported

• Management of procurement and contractual arrangements

• Management of insurance policies

Operational management

• Coordination and ongoing monitoring of operational planning

• Development and coordination of organisational policies and procedures documents

• Coordination of accreditation

• Development and management of good corporate governance

• Coordination of the production of the annual report

Governance

• Implementation of good governance and risk management processes

• Ensure compliance with all legal and statutory obligations under all relevant laws and regulations for NFPs and charities

• Secretariat support for the Board and Subcommittees, including coordinating board meetings, taking minutes, and preparing and distributing papers and minutes

Qualifications and experience

• Tertiary qualifications in business, administration, commerce, finance or related field

• At least 5 years’ experience in a role supporting high performing teams and diverse business operations

• Demonstrated understanding of not for the profit operational environment

• Excellent communication skills and ability to liaise with an array of internal stakeholders

• An understanding of, or ability to quickly gain, an understanding of statuatory and legal obligations for charities

• Highly-developed organisational skills and exceptional attention to detail

• Previous experience in a company secretary role would be highly regarded
