ORGANISATION OVERVIEW

POSITION OVERVIEW
Responsible for all factory operations, production and packaging at the Greenacre facility combined with the safety, quality cost and service commitments made by the company are delivered consistently and on time.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES CAN INCLUDE

  • Manage the factory operations within the financial budget established for it and exercise control over all expenses incurred.
  • Manage the effective and efficient use of service utilities such as water, power, gas etc.
  • Drives CI initiatives to the development and implementation of organisational growth, goals and strategies
  • Contributes to the development of relevant products, technology, financial and resource applications
  • Contributes to the development and implementation of appropriate actions that reflect company policies and achieve set goals
  • Manages and follow up on policy, programs or operational changes to be implemented within the area of responsibility
  • Plans, tests, trains, documents and implements enhancements to standard operating procedures
  • Cooperates with and contributes to the development, introduction and evaluation of strategies for the constant improvement working practices
  • Implements and ensures compliance to standard operating procedures for all production processes
  • Ensures all production procedures are known to employees so that daily production runs smoothly
  • Monitors performance and quality to identify corrective action requirements
  • Takes corrective actions on a timely basis to ensure quality, cost and service standards are met on a daily basis
  • Works with other managers to analyse and review production plans in terms of capacity, resources and technology to ensure objectives can be met within required parameters
  • Ensures compliance with all regulatory WH&S/Quality requirements on site, e.g. knowledge of all SOP's, WH&S legislation (basic/intermediate), and Dangerous goods.
  • Meet customer, legislative and statutory health requirements
  • Takes a proactive approach to early detection and correction of non conformance


Key Performance Indicators

  • Manage and deliver on Safety target to ensure a work safe environment Provide expert leaderships growing a support and can do attitude
  • Deliver on quality standard to ensure the business meets the needs of customer and legislative requirements by maintaining of all HACCP control measures and ensuring critical limits are met for all CCPs and CQPs
  • Manage budgetary control to deliver EBITDA for the financial year.
  • Provide product to the company's customer base at a consistent quality on time and within specification.
  • Manage the site and staff within the Award and EA requirements.
  • Develop all staff to improve their performance and the cost effectivenFess of all production. Lead the supply review team in line with the operational excellence program.
  • Continuous improvement within the practices of Lean Six sigma Support NPD on site.


WHS

  • Ensure WHS Plans are effectively managed in their areas of responsibility.
  • Ensure employees receive training in any allocated responsibilities.
  • Implement a program of regular workplace inspections and ensure that all unsafe or unhealthy practices or situations are rectified.
  • Demonstrate a personal commitment to safety, health and environment principles, including the rewarding of positive behaviour in respect to safety, health and environment practices.
  • Maintain systems at the workplace to ensure contractors and suppliers comply with the company's safety, health and environment standards.
  • Implement an effective communication system at the workplace to provide current information to all workers with respect to safety, health and environment.
  • Ensure planned safety, health and environment-training programs are conducted for all workers at the workplace and that adequate records of the delivery of these programs are kept.
  • Ensure effective Risk Management practices are utilised at the workplace in respect to safety, health and environment.
  • Participate as required in all audits conducted and ensure that corrective action on recommendations is resourced and completed in a timely manner.
  • Ensure procedures relating to Consultation and communication of safety issues are implemented.
  • Ensure that regular staff meetings are conducted as outlined in the HSMS.
  • Ensure training is provided to all personnel required to wear Personal Protective Equipment. Monitor PPE and clothing requirements to ensure compliance. Where there is non-compliance, investigate to ascertain the reason.
  • Ensure that location of staff are supervised to ensure work tasks are performed safely.
  • Ensure that Team Leaders conduct on-the-job / SOP training with area workers so as to enable them to perform their tasks safely and that appropriate training records are maintained.
  • Ensure that a Material Safety Data Sheet (MSDS) is obtained before any new hazardous substance is brought onto site, is readily accessible and that the register of MSDS is maintained.
  • Ensure that all employees are aware of personal Protective Equipment requirements


SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS:
Qualifications

  • An appropriate engineering/manufacturing qualification preferably supported with a Formal Business diploma/degree an advantage.
  • Tertiary qualifications in Food Technology an advantage


Knowledge & Experience

  • Experience in a manufacturing environment at least 5+ years people management experience in a progressive food or beverage manufacturing environment
  • Experience in a similar food industry role
  • Strong experience in a fast paced production environment Proven line management experience
  • An understanding of quality systems and WH&S
  • Experience gained from within a large-scale production facility. FMCG is preferred Proven experience in managing and developing production teams
  • Experience in managing projects of differing levels Experience in performance management
  • Demonstrate success in leading people through change and building a positive, results oriented culture, which strives for continuous improvement.
  • Strong people manager that leads by example and can give direction to a team of loyal, hard working employees.
