What you will be doing and will be responsible for:
The Operations Manager will be responsible for ensuring ongoing site efficiency and profitability is maintained, and that Supervisors and Leading Hands are acting in the best interests of the company at all times. This position is all about the leadership of the team to ensure the effective project delivery and achievement of outcomes.
Key Responsibilities:
- Oversee Site Operations to ensure efficiency.
- Oversee the delivery of projects to ensure completion on time and on budget.
- Participate in long term planning of the organisation.
- Liaise with Management to ensure sites are serviced and monitored for efficiency.
- Be the first point of contact for Supervisors, to assist where required.
- Liaise directly with Client Representatives and Project Managers.
- Give suggestions for improvements where possible in all areas regarding site works.
- Be aware of site progress and project requirements to maintain profitability.
- Consider commercial aspect of all decisions relating to site works.
- Where required. attend start-up meetings for new projects.
- On request, attend pre-works meetings and site inspections for quoting purposes.
- Prior experience in an Operations position within the Construction Industry.
- Substantial experience and knowledge of both commercial and civil construction viewed favourably.
- High customer service and strength in building effective stakeholder relationships.
- High energy and strong track record of driving business growth and positive performance with a high level of commercial acumen.
- Desire to be part of the leadership team and be flexible subject to the requirements of the business.
- Expert at workforce and project planning to maximise efficiency of resources.
- Excellent leadership skills, particularly in managing and supporting Supervisors in the successful achievement of KPIs (and/or driving corrective action).
- Strong people manager known for developing, motivating and retaining their teams and clients.
- Excellent prioritisation and time management skills.
- Strong understanding of WH&S systems and safe practices.
- Current driver’s license and white card.
