About the role
Viterra is seeking a motivated individual with excellent communication skills to work closely with our western region sites to ensure inventory is available to execute export and domestic outturns via road and shipping. Based in Port Lincoln, this varied role requires a high level of attention to detail and has a strong focus on grain quality and inventory control to ensure efficient grain movements, planning, and coordination.
As the Operations Planner, you will have a pivotal role in stock positioning, quality, and shipping documentation for Viterra’s western region shipping programme.
Duties
- Communicate with sites regarding grain movement plans and site operations
- Coordinate domestic out turns and stock allocations
- Maintain accurate inventory processes and ensure that the company inventory management systems are kept up to date and reflect physical position across all sites
- Maintain up to date quality data to ensure outturns meet specification
- Prepare plans for export cargos, including specific quality allocations and ship loading plans
- Assisting with harvest planning, maximising storage facility utilisation
- Ensure all shipping files are kept up to date
- Inventory planning and data analysis
- Previous experience in an inventory role
- Previous experience in the grain industry, desirable
- Intermediate to advanced computer and Microsoft Excel skills
- Ability to learn new internal systems
- Strong communications skills with the ability to engage with internal and external customers
- Ability to identify process improvements and implement cost optimisation initiatives
- An analytical and innovative mindset to develop customer solutions
- Strong attention to detail
