The Operations Branch, comprises of the key manufacturing anddelivery units of the Mint, operating to deliver outcomes againstthe Mint’s corporate strategy. The branch producescirculating and numismatic coin and minted products for Australianand foreign governments and collectors alike.
The Operations Branch, operates over two shifts (Day Shift 8:00– 16:00 Monday to Friday & Afternoon Shift 15:30 –23:30 Monday to Friday). Successful applicants will be allocated toone of these shifts and may be required to rotate between shiftswith notice.
As a member of the Circulating Coining team, the OperationsProduction Assistant produces domestic and foreign circulating coinusing automated systems, machinery and equipment. They also preformassociated tasks, such as identifying and problem solving basicproduction issues, maintaining and retrieving records, andassisting with dispatch and packaging.
Our ideal candidate will have:
• experience in a manufacturing environment
• experience in Quality Control inspections withattention to detail
• experience in accurately following workinstructions
• the ability to quickly acquire knowledge ofcoin and medal production processes
• basic computer skills in Microsoft OfficeSuite.
The duties of this position include:
1. Producing coin product using automated systems,machinery and equipment.
2. Maintaining electronic records and retrieving datarelating to manufacturing.
3. Assisting with, and possibly leading, continuousimprovement activities through the Mint’s Just Do It Nowprocess.
4. Identifying and reporting risks, and ensuringadherence to principles and practices of quality.
5. Identifying and problem solving basic productionissues, providing feedback to supervisors and colleagues.
6. Assisting operations relating to dispatch andpackaging.
Security clearance
This position requires a baseline security clearance. Thesuccessful applicant will be required to obtain and maintain aclearance at this level.
