About your new opportunity
Our Commercial Operations Team contribute to the effective management of state-wide water and wastewater networks, treatment plants and other critical assets to help deliver world class water services to our customers. The team oversee the governance of our major outsourced arrangements facilitating the delivery of value-for-money services through effective commercial partnerships. Our team achieves this through effective stakeholder relationships where they balance risks against opportunities to optimise commercial outcomes and drive consistency and best practice.
As each of our major outsourced arrangements approaches end of contract, we need to identify the preferred future-state service delivery model and facilitate a seamless transition to this new future state so we can continue to provide safe, reliable and affordable services to our customers.
The Operations Project Engineer role is a diverse and engaging opportunity that will see you establish and build strong rapport with a wide range of internal and external stakeholders by providing project management and transition support for the execution of transition activities and improvement processes related to our major outsourced operational contracts. This role is a full time maximum term contract until 31 March 2025.
Key responsibilities:
- Support and/or manage the delivery of project activity to achieve objectives.
- Contribute to ensuring planning controls are in place to deliver project activity within time constraints.
- Contribute to project deliverables and outcomes meeting applicable standards, specifications and design.
- Contribute to ensuring project outcomes are fit for purpose and meeting quality, cost and time requirements.
It is crucial within this role, that the successful candidate be suitably experienced, highly motivated and able to navigate through ambiguous project environments whilst driving successful outcomes.
In addition, the Operations Project Engineer will require:
- Tertiary qualifications in project management, engineering or a related degree;
- Sound analytical skills and demonstrated ability to assess, evaluate and solve problems;
- Demonstrated interpersonal skills and ability to communicate effectively both in writing and verbally;
- Ability to develop and maintain open and productive relationships;
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and deliver outputs within specified time frames;
- Ability to work autonomously, deal with ambiguity and develop sound decision making to effect successful outcomes.
