AddressOur Brisbane office is actively seeking for an Air freight Operations Specialist who strives to deliver high-quality outcomes and is looking for an opportunity, with a view to growing in our company. Our operations personnel control shipments from end to end during import and export air freight procedures. We need operations staff who are positive, motivated and want to be part of a professional team of Dangerous Goods Freight Specialists.
This is a hands-on role that processes a moderate degree of phone and a high degree of email communication between clients, customers and suppliers. We provide both on-the-job and off-site training opportunities.
The business operates from Monday to Friday, 8:30 am to 5:00 pm on site.
Additional hours may be needed to ensure jobs are completed and customer satisfaction is met.
Duties will include:
- Liaising with customers for every aspect of their shipment
- Customer service
- Managing agents and customers directly
- Finding solutions by Air and road for highly regulated shipments
- Making export airline bookings with airlines
- Tracking shipments and providing updates
- Checking SDSs and arranging DG shipments including repacking and documentation
- Assist with processing, repacking and preparing shipments
- Liaise and assist with other companies and in-house to ensure the timely pick-up and collection of freight
- Consolidate information and liaise with our Broker to ensure the prompt release of inbound international cargo
- Driving and assisting with pickups and deliveries, when required
We need someone that is/has:
- Attention to detail
- Computer literacy
- Good problem-solving skills
- Ability to clearly explain issues to clients and peers, respond to any questions and provide alternative solutions
- Ability to multitask, prioritise and meet deadlines
- DG accredited would be an advantage, but training will be provided
- Knowledge of airfreight operations is preferred
- Willing to learn
- Committed and reliable
- Proactive
The position holder will process customer inbound queries and shipments with a high level of accuracy and efficiency. This position will provide the highest quality customer service and work closely with the DGI network of offices and agents to ensure prompt turnaround of inbound and outbound movements.
