North Kimberley Airport is the leading remote, all-weather airport in Australia. Based on the Anjo Peninsular in the Kimberley, NKA provides airfield services to the oil and gas industry, local industry, Defence and other Government agencies. To support operations, NKA has a fully equipped, 95 room camp complete with kitchen and dining facilities, gym, pool and recreational facilities. NKA staff are typically based in either Perth or Darwin, where regular weekly flights fly direct to the airport. Staff are housed in permanent ensuited rooms, with all meals supplied and wifi available throughout the camp.
This is a unique opportunity to remotely support the Airport Operations from our West Perth office. This new role will be pivotal in supporting the Airport Managers and the business in general in coordinating operations, as well as managing a number of improvement projects planned for the airport over the coming years. In this key position you will report to the General Manager, whilst supporting and liaising with the Airport Managers and the Logistics Supervisor to ensure a seamless and cost-effective operation.
Role
- Manage all aspects of People Logistics, including booking and allocation of flights and liaison with Labour Hire companies for sourcing temporary staff.
- Assist the Airport Managers in the day to day reporting and management of issues as required.
- Assist the Company Accountant in the collation of customer data for monthly financial processing.
- Oversee and project manage a number of upgrade and rejuvenation programs planned for the airport including runway and camp upgrades and equipment replacement program.
- Supervise day to day operational matters for the organisation in consultation with the General Manager.
- Management of Camp Operations, including catering, cleaning and facilities management services.
- Fostering a high-performance culture through continuous improvement and innovation
The Candidate
- Strong and decisive leadership skills with ability to build an effective and engaged team.
- Experience in People Logistics including flight bookings, roster management and sourcing of temporary staff.
- Operational management experience in a fast-paced and dynamic transport environment.
- Extensive project management experience to oversee civils and construction projects.
- Strong commitment to safety and upholding company policies and procedures.
- Ability to travel to site as required to oversee and monitor projects
- Experience in aviation and/or aerodromes would be desirable.
