Our client is a leading company in the transportation and logistics industry, providing comprehensive services in international and domestic freight operations. The International and Domestic Freight Operations Specialist at our client's site is responsible for overseeing and managing freight operations in the ANZ region. This role involves coordinating import/export and domestic transportation activities, fostering strong partnerships with key stakeholders, driving cost improvements, and ensuring compliance with company policies and regulations.

Key Responsibilities:
- Transport Management:
- Support Supply Chain and internal teams with freight requirements, including bookings, schedules, changes, and rates.
- Analyse and develop delivery routes to optimize dispatches and internal courier needs.
- Maintain and manage freight relationships with regional and local teams.
- Identify opportunities for streamlining logistics processes and drive improvements.
- Ensure accurate documentation and reporting for auditing purposes.
- Liaise with suppliers and transport services to facilitate on-time shipments.
- Manage issues and initiate recovery actions and solutions for internal and external customers.
- Participate in the preparation of operations budgets.
- Deliver cost improvements and monitor expenditure across transport service providers.
- Identify and implement service improvement activities through process improvement methodologies.
- Utilize CI tools such as daily huddles, Gemba walks, and performance dashboards.
- Perform duties in accordance with company quality and WHS policies.
- Follow Good Warehousing Practices (GWP) and maintain a safe working environment.
- Ensure compliance with government regulations and Chain of Responsibility (CoR) requirements.
Required Competencies & Skills:
- Demonstrated knowledge of international and domestic freight operations.
- Working knowledge of SAP, WMS, and TMS systems.
- Strong analytical skills with proficiency in MS Office.
- Continuous improvement mindset with a focus on customer outcomes.
- Respectful communication and collaboration with team members.
Preferred Experience / Qualifications:
- 5 years of supply chain exposure.
- 3 years of international freight experience.
- 5 years of domestic freight experience.
