Operations Supervisor - Laverton
Aim Site Hire is Victoria's leading hire and rental provider of Temporary Fencing, Portable Toilets, and hire equipment to the domestic housing, construction, and events industries. We are a well-established hire company and have been operating across Victoria for over 40 years.
We have a unique opportunity for a pro-active, results driven Operations Supervisor to oversee the daily activity at our busy Laverton Branch which is the heart of our temp fencing operations.
Reporting directly to the branch manager you will be responsible for overseeing the day to day functions of the branch. You will lead a team of drivers, jockeys, yardhands and admin staff, keeping your finger on the pulse to schedule runs, manage the fleet and co-ordinate the efficient installation and pick up of temporary fencing to site whilst maintaining a strong focus on customer satisfaction and safety compliance.
You will be an early riser with the role requiring you to be on site from 6.00am daily, to coordinate the team, handle run allocations, loading, make adhoc changes where required and manage prestart compliance.
The Role:
You will play a critical role as the first point of contact and ensuring safe and efficient operations. To be successful in this role you will be required to;
- Take leadership of the team and co-ordinate workflow
- Plan loading, allocation and daily delivery/pick up schedules, for cost and time efficiencies
- Make adhoc changes to scheduling and regularly communicate with drivers throughout the day
- Effectively coordinate and report on fleet maintenance, stocktakes any product damage.
- Ensure operations comply with Human Resources, Workplace Health, Safety & Environment requirements.
- Maintain a strong customer focus, resolving customer queries and handling customer expectations
- Report daily to the Reginal Branch Manager on overall operations
- Provide support to the branch administration teams
About You:
The successful candidate will be able to demonstrate strong leadership skills with a strong work ethic and have knowledge of scheduling and logistics.
- Previous experience in scheduling, planning and fleet management is desired
- Experience supervising an operations team within a logistics environment will be highly regarded
- Knowledge of Melbourne and outer regions and previous experience in delivery scheduling
- Ability to coordinate operations and complete administration tasks
- Proven experience with multi-tasking and prioritizing in a fast-paced environment
- Proficient computer and system skills
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- The ability to manage customer expectations and resolve customer issues
- Demonstrate a commitment to health, safety and environment compliance
