About the role
We are currently seeking applications for the role of Trainee Underground Operator based at Prominent Hill in South Australia. The role will operate on a FIFO (from Adelaide) or DIDO (South Australia) basis on 8 days on 6 days off roster.
The main objective of the Trainee Underground MCU Operator will be to operate underground production charging unit, in doing so providing a quality service in the delivery of bulk explosives to blast areas in a safe and productive manner.
What you will be doing
- First and foremost, demonstrating and setting the example of our key company value: 'Safety is our Priority, Always';
- Duties including Magazine Management;
- Conducting routine inspections and performing minor maintenance of fixed and mobile plants.
- Assisting with the training and mentoring of new team members;
- Working in tight unison with the Drill and Blast Team.
- At all times acting with integrity and respect.
What you will bring
- Heavy rigid (HR) vehicle license;
- Ability to obtain a national police clearance check;
- A commitment and attitude toward Safety, Health and Environment;
- Basic mechanical comprehension is highly advantageous;
- Exposure to operating heavy plant, equipment and machinery is advantageous but not essential.
