Your New Role:
Are you a skilled plumber or have experience in water operations? Ready to be part of a great team? Here’s your chance! We’re thrilled to offer this incredible opportunity to join our organisation as a Water and Sewer Network Operator.
This position is part of our Water Construction and Maintenance function, and ultimately involves carrying out maintenance, repair, rehabilitation and construction of Kempsey Shire Council’s water supply and Sewer Network. You’ll respond promptly to service requests, emergencies and address any operational issues related to Water and Sewer systems. Using your prior experience and knowledge, you'll also monitor system performance, identify inefficiencies and implement corrective actions to optimise network operations and minimise downtime.
You’ll work collaboratively with team members, supervisors and other stakeholders in the coordination of work schedules and ensure that accurate records of maintenance activities, equipment inspections and relevant data are kept, to support regulatory compliance and reporting requirements.

About You: The Successful Candidate
To be successful in this role, the desirable experience and competencies are:
Trade Qualifications in Plumbing and/or Cert III in Water Industry Operations.
Demonstrated work experience relevant to the role.
Demonstrated working knowledge of Work Health & Safety obligations as they relate to this position.
Physical ability to undertake labouring duties.
Current industry relevant SafeWork or technical certificates including Confined Space Entry, Backflow Prevention. Traffic Controller and/or Implement Traffic Management Plans would be considered an advantage.
Strong problem-solving skills and ability to troubleshoot technical issues effectively.
Proven ability to use a computer including mobile devices and software applications.
Current Tetanus, Hepatitis A and Hepatitis B immunisations (or willing to obtain).
Valid driver’s licence.
