We are a busy single doctor Ophthalmic practice looking for another team member to join our amazing team for an ongoing position becoming another member of our ‘work family’.
The position is classed as "Casual" but is ongoing and has become available due to current staff changes in family/lifestyle/education situations.
We are a very busy clinic therefore the successful candidate must be able to work in a fast paced environment whilst maintaining high standards of attention to detail and time management whilst working as a valued team member with existing colleagues.
We are seeking an Ophthalmic Technician/Reception Support person thus requiring the ability to work in varied roles interchanging when necessary.
The successful candidate must possess a flexible attitude and be able to multi-task, be accountable for their actions and have team member values and will also need to ensure the integrity and smooth continuation of shared responsibilities of roles and tasks at all times.
The candidate needs to be enthusiastic about learning new skills if required and building upon existing skills and be open to receiving feedback in a positive manner.
Our clinic has a diverse range of patients and carers and it is expected that the successful candidate will portray a calm, polite, friendly, courteous and professional manner at all times and have excellent interpersonal skills enabling competent interaction and positive communication to ensure the best outcomes for all concerned.
It is expected that you are punctual and be well presented at all times.
There is a 4 week cyclical roster and the hours can vary to cover staff/doctor leave and clinic work load.

Job tasks and responsibilities
The Ophthalmic Technician duties include:
- taking VA's, IOP's, administering drops, taking OCT Scans, Photos, Fields Tests, IOL calculations & to assist with Intravitreal Injections and minor procedures.
General duties:
Preparing consult rooms.
Assist the Dr and Practice Manager where necessary.
Reception & Administration duties
Skills and experience preferred
Experience in Ophthalmic testing
Ability to work under pressure and be open to receiving feedback where improvements are required.
Experience in a busy medical clinic with Administration/Reception skills and high level computer competency.
Experience using Shexie Online Appointment booking program or equivalent programs would be an advantage.
Experience with data entry, Medicare and DVA claims & Eclipse.
Have an exceptional meticulous eye for detail and accuracy in order to take accurate and detailed queries and information from patients, family members, other medical institutions/doctors.
Be able to quickly respond to clinic requirements and have a flexible open attitude to adapt to all changing demands and be prepared to evolve with a growing practice.
Be able to work within a team harmoniously in shared roles and also work autonomously.
Possess great organisational/time management skills.
