Operations NT is accountable to the Assistant Commissioner North for the conduct of efficient and effective customs, migration, surveillance, patrol and response activities in the Northern Territory's remote onshore and littoral operating domains.
Operations NT is responsible for maintaining control of persons, goods, vessels and small-craft through activities in the Northern Territory's in-shore maritime environment outside of seaport limits.
Operations NT delivers functions through border enforcement and operational activities on cross-border movements of people and goods in a number of operational areas, including international airports, seaports and cargo facilities.
Operations NT plays a vital role processing travellers and goods to protect the Northern Territory's border from the entry of illegal and harmful goods and those intending to commit migration fraud or threaten the national interest. This includes processing travellers and goods arriving and departing Australia outside of major metropolitan airports and seaports, such as, vessels and small craft at remote seaports and light aircraft at regional airfields.
APS6 Border Force Supervisors supervise teams under operational command principles and limited direction that support border enforcement activities in a variety of operational environments including international airports and seaports, mail and cargo centres, remote locations, coastlines and maritime domains.
APS6 Border Force Supervisors have an in-depth knowledge of and adhere to the legislation and policy frameworks under which they operate. They exercise managerial responsibility by allocating work and managing staff performance and development. They may provide advice and guidance on procedural matters to team members and stakeholders.

Duties and responsibilities
- Ensure good governance is well understood and achieved to deliver operational priorities effectively and efficiently
- Undertake performance management activities, including the development of a performance agreement and provision of ongoing performance feedback
- Support coordinated operational assessment, planning and response to risks identified within Ops NT
- Assist with the development of plans to manage identified risks and operational response activities within Ops NT
- Support the deployment of ABF officers and other ABF assets effectively and flexibly between operational tasks to meet the risk, priorities and workload in Ops NT against the border security environment and operational need.

Eligibility
To be eligible for the position you must be an Australian Citizen.
The successful candidate will be required to obtain and maintain a Baseline Vetting (AGSVA) security clearance and an Employment Suitability Clearance (ESC).
