The opportunity:

The Oracle Application Administrator is responsible for setting up the business operation within the system and for programming the improvement of business functionalities by adding new applications or changing existing ones and is also responsible for managing the Oracle e-Business Suite services by interacting with the database and infrastructure, maintaining the system and completing system updates and upgrades.

Duties include:

• Adopting application standards and guidelines;

• Operating processes that automate deployment and cloning;

• Assisting with sizing environments and capacity planning;

• Operating back-up/recovery procedures and disaster recovery processes;

• Operating redundant and highly available system environments;

• Applying security frameworks and governance processes; and

• Preparing technical specifications and operating manuals.

Additionally, you will be required to:

• Assist with process and system improvements;

• Assist with major system upgrades and patching;

• Operate applications in order to deliver accurate, secure and reliable data;

• Configure, test and deploy application patches and changes;

• Schedule processes and execute workflows;

• Monitor system performance and operation; and

• Administer User security and assist with audits.

Selection Criteria:

Ideally you will be tertiary qualified in Information Technology and have demonstrated experience in managing, administering and supporting Oracle e-Business Suite applications and technology. You will need to have solid knowledge and experience in Oracle R12, R12.1, R12.2, e-Business Suite or Oracle Administration and be experienced in Linux and Unix operating systems (Solaris desirable), Unix shell scripting and Oracle SQL, PL/SQL.
