About the Role:
SoftLabs is seeking Oracle Developer / Data Engineer for ICT Labour hire at their technology consulting based in Canberra.
Responsibilities:
- Develop and maintain robust database systems, including schema design, stored procedures, queries, and scripts for Data manipulation and retrieval. Ensure high performance, security, and scalability of database systems.
- Utilize Oracle Data Integrator (ODI) to design and implement ETL (Extract, Transform, Load) processes that integrate data from various sources into a cohesive and efficient architecture. Optimize data flows to improve performance and reliability.
- Support the development of reporting and analytics solutions using Oracle Business Intelligence Enterprise Edition (OBIEE). Collaborate with stakeholders to understand their data needs and deliver insightful, actionable reports.
- Leverage cloud technologies for Data storage, processing, and analytics. Experience with Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI), and Azure is desirable. Implement and maintain cloud-based data solutions, ensuring they are scalable, secure, and cost-effective.
- Work closely with the Solutions Architect and other team member to support the development and implementation and database and data strategies. Provide technical expertise and recommendations to improve program outcomes.
Essential Criteria:
- Background as an Oracle Developer / Oracle Data Engineer Strong proficiency in Oracle database technologies, SQL, PL/SQL, and experience with Oracle Data Integrator (ODI) and Oracle Business Intelligence Enterprise Edition (OBIEE). Applicants must possess a minimum of 5 years of hands-on experience as an Oracle Database Developer, with a solid track record of developing, optimizing, and managing complex Oracle database systems, including extensive experience with database migrations, performance tuning, and implementing advanced features of Oracle 11g and 19c.
- Cloud Technologies Experience with cloud platforms such as Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI and Azure Platform). Knowledge of cloud-based data warehousing, ETL, and analytics services is highly desirable.
- Data Modelling Solid understanding of data modelling concepts and experience designing and implementing relational and dimensional data models.
- Analytical Skills Ability to analyse complex data sets to identify trends, patterns, and insights. Experience with data visualization tools and techniques is a plus.
- Problem-Solving Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to troubleshoot issues effectively. Must be able to provide efficient and scalable solutions to meet business needs.
- Communication Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to convey complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
Desirable Criteria:
- Familiarity with Federal Government ICT
- Oracle Database and Tools Experience.
o Oracle certifications and training in Oracle technologies, cloud platforms, and Data Engineering are highly desirable.
o Development proficiency in Oracle and Azure databases and related tools, with a preference for experience in cloud based solutions. Your expertise in Oracle and some knowledge of Azure will be an asset in our data transformation initiatives. - SAFe and/or Agile Experience/Exposure Familiarity with SAFe (Scaled Agile Framework) or other agile methodologies is a plus. Experience or exposure to agile practices will help streamline program delivery.
- Security Clearance (NV1 or Baseline) Possession of an NV1 security clearance is preferable, with a baseline security clearance as a bare minimum.
