A BIT ABOUT THE ROLE
Our ideal applicant will possess strong technical expertise, to enable focus on the generation of big data for use by others for modelling purposes. Our dataset is spread across large Oracle database and Cassandra clusters.
Working with database packages and procedures including complex queries for an Oracle Exadata environment.
Maintenance of existing code base to accommodate evolving requirements, and to identify and resolve bugs.
Significant Java code base with some legacy Python.

What do we need from you?
Skills & Experience:
- 3-4 years recent experience in a similar role using PL/SQL and Oracle, with 2 years production support experience.
- Java and/or Python skills beneficial.
Other skills & attitudes:
- Ability to work with a remote team. The majority of the team and the manager are based in NSW. Role will require work from Pyrmont office during probation as needed PLUS attendance to in-person meetings on an ad-hoc basis on-going.
- Self-motivation, pro-activeness and strong organisational skills.
- A high aptitude for learning and applying new and necessary technological solutions.
- Support experience: Rotating support approximately one day a fortnight plus one weekend every 10 weeks.
- An outstanding work ethic and discipline.
- Proven communication skills both written and verbal.
- The ability to think independently, act quickly and refocus following change.
- Ability to build and maintain relationships within and outside of your own team.
- Commitment to outstanding work quality.
